SIXTH ANNUAL FREE ANAHEIM HEALTH FAIR TO OFFER SCREENINGS, HEALTH CARE INFORMATION AND SELECTED FREE OUTPATIENT-BASED SURGERIES TO QUALIFIED PATIENTS

Anaheim's sixth annual free Health Fair will take place on Sunday, June 3, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at a new location – West Anaheim Medical Center. Physicians and medical staff will offer free health screenings and exams to ensure optimal health at every age.

Added this year are opportunities for selected free outpatient-based surgeries for uninsured and low-income patients 13-years-of-age or older, who must receive pre-qualification at the June 3 Health Fair. The outpatient surgeries, which will take place June 9-10 at West Anaheim Medical Center, include procedures for hernia, excision of cysts/lipomas, GI endoscopies, arthroscopy of joints, cataract, and more.

The Anaheim Health Fair is presented by the City of Anaheim in partnership with Anekant Community Center, West Anaheim Medical Center, Lestonnac Free Clinic and Grand Sponsor GBS Linens, Inc.

A partial list of services to be offered at the free Health Fair will include: Physical exams (vital signs and screenings); heart checks (EKG); cholesterol checks (lipid profile requires 8 hours fasting before the test); diabetes (glucose) and anemia (hemoglobin) tests; bone strength measurement (bone density); women's services (mammograms: patient qualifications required); eye exams; dental consultations; chiropractic and acupuncture services; consultation with medical and surgical specialists; voluntary bone marrow donor program sign-ups.
