Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement

West Anaheim Medical Center is participating in a Medicare initiative called the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model. The CJR model aims to promote quality and financial accountability for care surrounding lower-extremity joint replacement (LEJR) procedures, commonly referred to as hip and knee replacements and/or other major leg procedures. Heart Care Services

West Anaheim Medical Center offers comprehensive cardiovascular services including diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Noninvasive diagnostic procedures may include:

  • Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  • Echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart)
  • Treadmill Stress Test
  • Pharmacologic Nuclear Stress Tests (Lexiscan, Dobutamine, Adenosine)

Cardiologists, alongside our highly skilled cardiac catheterization team, provide angiography, as well as, percutaneous coronary interventions. Minimally invasive procedures may include:

  • Left and right heart catheterization
  • Angioplasty
  • Coronary stenting
  • Insertion of temporary pacemaker
  • Insertion of intra-aortic balloon pump
  • Fractional flow reserve

The cardiac catheterization team is available 24 hours a day for emergency procedures. We are a designated STEMI (ST elevated myocardial infarction or "heart attack") receiving center.

For patients requiring further interventions, West Anaheim Medical Center offers open heart surgical services and permanent pacemaker insertions.

Our Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit, staffed by registered nurses, has advanced monitoring and resuscitation equipment.

Imaging Services

The Imaging Center at West Anaheim Medical Center offers a full spectrum of services including the following:

  • Diagnostic Radiology/Fluoroscopy
  • MRI
  • CT Scans
  • Ultrasound
  • Echo/Vascular
  • Nuclear Medicine


The Pharmacy department provides the Hospital with competent staff with safe, cost effective, comprehensive, progressive pharmaceutical services of the highest quality in order to maximize care for patients of all ages. The pharmacy department also ensure the all laws and regulations are complied.

Respiratory Therapy

The Respiratory Care Department provides respiratory care services to patients ranging in age from neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult through geriatric. We provide a range of services that will meet the varying needs of patients in a caring and compassionate manner ranging from simple coughing and deep breathing, to care as complex as life sustaining mechanical ventilation.

Social Services/Case Management

The Case Management Department offers assistance to in-patients who require help with their discharge plans or whose living arrangement may interfere with their care or recovery. The Case Management department is made up of nurses, social workers, and discharge planners.

Surgical Services

West Anaheim Medical Center specializes in some of the latest in-patient and out-patient surgical techniques including laser surgery, arthroscopy and laparoscopic procedures.

Adult Sub-acute Services

Sub-acute care is a level of care needed by a patient who does not require acute care provided in a typical hospital setting, but who requires more intensive skilled nursing care than is available in a skilled nursing facility. Learn More
